Halloween and what we can be thankful for - Social Media Post
With the time on the season and Halloween is all over the place, pretty much all that I see all over Twitter, Facebook, and other social media mediums is all about Halloween. People in their costumes, pictures of their kids, pictures from parties that they are attending and all over the place. When seeing this and experiencing this, it makes me think about how gifted many of us are with what we have been given and experiences throughout our lives. There are many out there, maybe within our own neighborhoods that are not able to possibly afford a costume, or have a parent to go out trick or treating with and miss out on a lot of what a kid could experience. While I am talking specifically about this season, this applies to education as well and what some students are able to get access to, and what others are not able to.
When we think about the schools and what students have access to, it can be hard to think about depending on what you are surrounded by. There are plenty of schools that have computers for each student to use, the use of smart boards, and many other forms of technology that can help in their learning process. On the flip side of things, when you looks at schools that are in a more country setting, or in a inner city, many of these schools do not have the funding to be able to evolve with the times in education and have to pull their students along one way or another. With the way that technology has been changing and becoming common place in schools, to be able to keep up with it and make sure that are students are able to be included in this culture change and make sure that we can get our students ready for the way that the world is now. Finding was to get funding for some basic technology pieces, or possibly finding donations from corporation and the private sector would be a great way (which I am sure is happening right now) to get these students the materials they need.
Each day we have to look at what we have and what we have been gifted with throughout our lives and be thankful every step of the way. Be it a costume and pumpkin bucket to go trick or treating with, or a school that has all the access to the technology that they need to be able to have a great education. We also need to keep this in mind as we transition into teaching and make sure to carry that over to our schools and students when we become teachers.

I agree with funding can be a big issue when trying to include technology into the education of our students. I can relate to this because we have a set limit of how much we are able to spend for supplies that can help aid in treating an injured athlete. Many other schools have an unlimited budget which would be nice, but instead if we need an athlete to have a certain modality done we need to refer out to one of our clinics.
